Just how slow is it at my job this week? Slow enough that I had time to figure out that I took over 3 million steps this year during my runs. How did I arrive at that number? Here is the break down.
I’ve run 2390 miles at an average pace of 7 minutes per mile and an average stride rate of 180 steps per minute. That means every mile I run I take 1260 steps. 1260×2390=3,011,400 steps.
You inspired me. I ran 3,482 miles last year at an average pace of around 7:30. I run around 170 steps per minute, so that gives me 4,439,550 steps. This year: 5 million!!!
