Freezeroo #1

As most of you know I have 2 daughters, Hazel 3 years 8 months and Rosaleen 7 months.  I have no plans for more, and to ensure that I got the snip 11 days ago.  In my delusion, before the rather noninvasive surgery, I thought I’d be able to run the first Freezeroo race, maybe just as a tempo.  But 6 days after my surgery and one 3 mile run under my belt later it was clear that wasn’t going to happen.  Luckily I have teammates, who showed up in the bitter cold to do Roadkill Racing proud.  Kenny Goodfellow, not only won the race but did his own write-up of the race on his new Blog “Science, Run, Repeat.

I’ve never tried writing one of these race reports before, so we’ll see how this goes.  This past Saturday was the first race of the Freezeroo Series, the Don Curran Memorial 5K.  This race was the final race in the series last year, but it was changed to the first race for this year.  Coming off of two lighter weeks of training, I was not sure what to expect.  I figured I would not be in PR shape even in ideal conditions, but I also didn’t think that I lost all of my gains from the fall racing season.  As is usual before races… read the rest at his blog…

 

I’m back to my normal running schedule now and can’t wait for the New Years Day Freezeroo at Mendon.
